The EFE30 emergency vent cover is a large, quick-opening pressure relief device for atmospheric storage tanks. It provides additional positive-pressure relief capacity during abnormal conditions such as external fire exposure or excessive vapour generation when the normal operating vent may not provide sufficient capacity.
When tank pressure reaches the selected set point, the cover lifts sufficiently to discharge the required emergency flow to atmosphere. As pressure falls, it returns to its seat automatically. The EFE30 provides emergency positive-pressure relief only; normal tank pressure control and vacuum protection require the appropriate operating vent.
The unified range includes a weight-loaded configuration from 50 to 500 mmH₂O and a spring-loaded configuration from 500 to 10,000 mmH₂O. The loading arrangement is selected from the required opening pressure rather than treated as a separate product.
Available nominal sizes are 16, 20 and 24 inches (DN400, DN500 and DN600) in carbon steel or stainless steel. Final selection must be based on the governing emergency scenario, required gas or vapour capacity, set pressure, allowable overpressure, tank design conditions, connection details and material requirements. Fire-case sizing also requires the tank geometry and exposed or wetted surface area.
