The EFG41 tank gauge hatch provides controlled manual access to liquid storage tanks for level gauging, product sampling and visual inspection. Installed directly on a tank roof nozzle or at the end of an access connection, it allows an operator to introduce a measuring tape or sampling bottle.
A serrated foot treadle opens the hinged cover through approximately 75 to 80 degrees, leaving both hands free. The self-closing version returns to the closed position when the treadle is released; a lock-down version is available where procedures require the cover to remain secured.
Available from 4 to 12 inches (DN100 to DN300), the EFG41 has a maximum working pressure of 3 psig, approximately 0.21 bar(g). Body options are carbon steel and stainless steel, with a non-sparking configuration available where required.
The EFG41 is a controlled-access gauge hatch. It must not be confused with spring-loaded thief hatches that may also provide pressure or vacuum relief, and it must not replace correctly sized tank venting equipment.
